well..it's the exam period! =(

although the library at singapore polytechnic's school of business is still open for us to go over to study... i've decided to go to the libraries out of school for a breather! =) and that still doesn't mean i enjoy studying for exams... gosh...

oh well.. i was studying at the library@orchard..kinda cool cos they actually have earphones plugged in for people like us to enjoy some music without disturbing others.. =) but there was only a limited selection.. wahaha.. still...it's quite a good environment to study at(if you need a new environment to study).. =P

of cos..but the library at singapore polytechnic biz school is not too bad either.. at least when we get bored...there's plenty of computers for us to surf the net! and i mean PLENTY! hahaha.. =) maybe our singpaore polytechnic libraries(we have two in our poly) could provide music for us to listen through headphones.. but with better music selection for us teens going out of our heads from mugging!

i can't wait for the exams to end to i can have some fun during the holidays! wohoo... =) but for now... bohoo.. =(

Okay… I managed to get 3 tickets for National Day Parade… blue sector… Yup… Reached the damn hot floating stadium. Can see that Singapore is low trust society… Everything also must check… so scared got bomb… Dotx… If I am a terrorist, I would have worked as one of the Bangala who build the dumb stadium and plant bomb there liao lo… Who would wait for the actual day??? I think only the fake MRT terrorist would do that… He a total flop… Ok finished with this crap…

First event for the event is seeing some motorcyclist do stunt… Can see Singaporean very quiet… Very little people cheer for them and of course I also din do anything as I was observing human behavior… I can see the Australian guy had a hard time commentating… hahax… Then everything gets boring… Singing song that is painful to the ears and me and my friends are yawning… But what can you expect from National Day ? Wang Lee Hong ? We only got Chen Wei Lian… hahax… The only thing that interest me is the Apache, Tank and other weaponary.. Other then that is some boring performance… After all, all Singaporean mind is on the goodie bag… And the most important thing in the is the discount voucher … Surprisly, this year have better things inside… It got a fan !!! but other thing are useless. Finally the firework displayed started and the parade end. The display was nice though but thinking of all led me to thinking of the 2% GST increase then I wasn’t very nice after all…

After the NDP, was an example of typical Singaporean… Primary teacher fall to teach us how to line up and walk orderly… Especially at the City Hall MRT… Haiz should have taken a photo of that scene but I was in a foul mood and didn’t took any photo… So after witnessing the moronic horde of people in the MRT station , I wasn’t as stupid as them. Therefore I decided to walk to lavender and took an empty bus home… Hahax…

Singapore Polytechnic had its own version of the NDP as well on the day before, with sing song sessions and even a helicopter flypass – remote control ones, of course. Other things in the programme included lion dance, wushu stunts and some drumming. We Poly students have some talent.

I heard one Singapore Polytechnic lecturer mentioned that: “Comparison is the root of all inferiority.” YES, I CERTAINLY AGREE. How can parents look into another person’s strengths and compare them to your weaknesses? Children have their own unique strengths, abilities and different personalities. I think it JUST makes things WORSE. U just feels bad, insecure and self-doubt about yourself. Young people are especially vulnerable to the game of comparison.

Sad to say this but it is true, pressure from my parents does have positive effects too. In order to live up to their expectations, it does boost my confidence and spirit and hence makes me do better academically. But this may not apply to everyone.

Being a foreign student who has left my hometown since young, it gives me the energy and determination to go the extra mile not only in my studies in Singapore Polytechnic, but also in all my everyday life. I do very clearly understand that my parents spend a lot a lot of money to bring me to Singapore to study so that I can have a good life in future with a recognised certificate. HMm..so I cant let down my parents and the only way to repay them is studying hard..

Therefore, whenever my parents nags at me, reprimands me when I start spending my time lazing around like doing nothing (my favourite pastime—SLEEP!!), watching too long hours of television not studying at all, I will not shout back at them or even argue with them but rather I will feel guilty. However, sometimes I really feel like doing nothing coz I jus feel too pressuring with the workload from school (thought that polytechnic will be more relaxing and easy, GOSh, I’m proven wrong), projects are the killer especially when u do not have cooperative members. Now, the exams are around the corner, the pressure to get good results makes me move on..but I do watch tv hehehe..i cant survive without it. My favourite Korean show “ Jia you Jin shun!!” All the BEST to everyone and good luck for exams Yea!!!

it's certainly important to study and gain more knowledge.. life in singapore polytechnic is so chock.a.block with things to learn ....

but knowledge doesnt certainly always come from books.. sometimes.. it comes from personal experiences... therefore..during my last vacation..i went on a trip to taiwan with my family(my mom.cousin.aunt)! going overseas allows me to learn more about the different cultures of the country as well as the history.. and most of all... EAT! i love to try out different cuisines! =)
and so...my taiwan trip was mostly on eating! wahahaha.. it was supposed to be a shopping trip as well...but...because we booked the trip together with a tour group.. there wasnt really much time for shopping.. =( so...i decided to make myself happy by eating more! yums... =)
okies.. so...these are actually some of the food which i ate! super yummy... there's like the smelly toufu in super spicy soup(ma.la.dou.fu)..beef noodles(the noodles are hand.made!)..muachi(the.2.different.styles.but.both.with.sesame.filling)..organic food..and instant bowl noodles plus my favourite drink(my few nights of supper!)..

[smelly toufu]

[beef noodles]
[2different kinds of muachi]

[organic food: salad]
[organic food: pumpkin soup]

[organic food: chicken wrap with cheese filling]
[organic food: dessert]
[all night favourite supper!]
i really liked the smelly toufu..it's like different from the singapore ones..which is usually deep fried.. plus the fact that it's kinda hard to find smelly toufu in singapore cos many singaporeans dread the smell of it.. but why do i find it so tasty?!?! =P even my mom.aunt.cousin thinks it's smelly.. =X but yea...i loved it! hahahaha.. oh ya...and i really loved their instant bowl noodles..it's damn cool! there's like beef cubes in it..and i mean real beef! REAL TENDER SOFT BEEF(with some fats)! (just.blogging.about.it.now.makes.me.drool) forget about the fats part lars... it's super SHIOK! is what i can say.. wahaha! and the drink together with my noodles.. i cant remember what drink it is..but it's some kinda tea which has a unique flavour to it! I MISS THE FOOD IN TAIWAN!!!! is there like special delivery of food from taiwan? i feeling kinda hungry now.. =X
anyway...i guess if i ever go back to taiwan...NO MORE FOLLOWING THE TOUR GROUPS.. they just make you sit in the coach all day long and get sick of the turning rounds and rounds travelling which makes you feel like vomiting.. =( i guess if anyone ever wants to go to taiwan.. GO FREE AND EASY! just grab a few friends and head down.. it's kinda safe there..so there's no worries.. but...it's quite important to know how to speak mandarin.. other than that...i think it should be pretty alright!
it was a wonderful break from life in singapore polytechinc.. and kind of makes the heart grow fonder of what we have here.....

signing off....
JUST SIMPLY LOVE EATING!

Anxious, nervous, uneasy was the feeling I had all day long! Our group was having UCCD presentation in Singapore Polytechnic and we were doing on Vietnam. Time seemed to seep through the days in just a flash. Guess wad, we even had to skip QA lecture to prepare for our presentation but only 3 of the members appeared. Hmm!sadly, we were very disorganized and did last minute work for the presentation too. I can't even believe that even on that day, we were still editing our ppt slides!OH GOSH!

Anyway, I arrived at 9am ALONE...but surprisingly I saw those who had forgotten that today we didn't had MR class muhahaha!so they accompanied me Anyway, we arrived only 2mins later than other group and goodness knows!!! They wanted to present first and obviously UCCD tutor said yes without even approving us (our whole group). Well, I was like kinda of OKIE...it doesn't matter, let them present first. WHAT MOST ASTONISHED EACH & EVERYONE OF US!they took more than 45 mins to present which is more than wad is expected!though the tutor told them that they had overshoot!Undeniably they did an excellent presentation which aroused interest from each of us..and then the question and answer from each of us took another 15 mins coz each of us had to go give a question to earn a participation mark..hmm.. I was really wondering is this the way to improve or make the lessons more interesting??? Or is she another tutor who goes by rule by rule...She will go the extra mile of calling out your names if u didn't ask a question!

After wad seemed like ages..I even made some noises to hint them ( guys, we don't have much time left aargghhh..)..Finally was our turn!guess wad, my laptop's battery was running low!sigh sigh and had to restart the whole program again which took a few minutes! To make things worse, my member pressed the restart button oh DEAR..the comp had to restart again!the teacher was absolutely furious...she just said "CALL ME WHEN U ARE READY" and just stormed out of the class. WAD is happening?? Everyone didn't even have the time to realize wad is going on..Oh No! we are in deep deep hot soup!then the previous group members and our members went to look for her.. search the ladies toilet..and my group members and I even ran to her office but to our dismay. Then we headed back to our class, a lot of commotion was going into the class. The teacher came back at 4 40 and she even demanded us to finish our presentation by 5. WAD? We barely have 20 mins to present 70 SLIDES!This is just too unfair and we even had to apologized to her. YES! I knew it was our fault, for not having a back up. I HATE TECHNOLOGY!!! But wad about THE PREVIOUS GROUP, does she shows favouritism? I think YES YES!

Now, my blood was boiling and my voice was getting louder and louder. I dislike HER! AND one of the previous members kept signaling me to hurry up! Who he think he was? I'm absolutely aware that my other members had to present too. I spoke as fast as the speed of MRT. Misfortune never comes alone. OF coz, we were boarded with questions that utterly left us DUMBFOUNDED!! This was WORST EVER PRESENTATION I HAVE DONE IN MY THREE YEARS IN SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC, no more last min projects in future!!

Look! It 15 god damn stations and approximately 30 min train ride from home to Singapore Polytechnic! I seriously wonder why MRT is refer to Mass Rapid Transit, though I agree the Mass part, yup it definitely have a huge mass since it always crowded. But rapid?! I think I can ride my bike faster than that metallic caterpillar.

My recommendation for this long ride:
1) Equip yourself with a MP3
2) Equip yourself with a PSP (virtual tennis 3 :D)
3) Be Talented in day dreaming
4) Have a keen sight to spot for empty seat
5) Waste your time by predicting where people will drop off(E.g If he an Indian, the highest possibility is Outram as 99% he is going to Little India)
6) Have a friend to accompany you along like me :D
7) Sleep
8) Train for NAFA by doing pull up (The metal pole :D)

That all I can think of.A picture tell thousand words, therefore I have spoken 1163 words.

Where will u go after O'levels???? Hmmm......this is most probably a lot of O'levels students are worrying about. I was also in their shoes 2 years ago hehe...still young :p I'm not sure whether i should be telling this with a sigh or delight...once i was trapped in a wood where 2 roads diverged ( Polytechnic or Junior College ) and I----after much contemplation took one and that has made all the difference in my LIFE!

In my mind, I wanted to attempt something different...normally students who achieve good results will get them into junior college and the rest into polytechnics. Well, my results were not outstanding but qualified to get into a good junior college, BUT I wanted to change this phenomenon---I applied for Polytechnic instead.

Now comes the most complex problem- Which polytechnic should I enrol? What subject should I study??? These questions were making me frustrated at that time. Therefore, my friends and I almost went every polytechnic open-house! This was the most exciting and unforgettable moments-- u are treated like a "big star"! Everyone is eager to share with u about their schools, ccAs, their life in polytechnics, their wonderful lecturers...Somehow everything comes ALIVE and my doubts began piecing up one by one..something was bound to haPPen..I know!

hello everyone!you must be wondering why i choose Singapore polytechnic as one of my choices? wells, its because of the assessibility and also because of the high reputation it has for its business course. Singapore polytechnic is really very assessible because it has an mrt station linking to school! how cool is that yeas? you just cross a bridge and there you are, at school! No other polytechnics has this so we're special! don't you agree? Anyway, our school recently built a covered walkway all the way up to the business school which is actually situated up the hill. Its the only course that has the school up a hill. Even though it's really a far walk from the mrt station, you still enjoy a shaddy journey all the way up to school and that means you don't have to walk under the hot and scortching sun and get all sweaty by the time you reach school. Ok lets put the assessibility issue aside. Our business school is really reputable. You might be thinking that polytechnic's are for people who cannot get into JC. But thats not true at all! You can ask many of my fellow peers in school what their aggregate are for O levels and you'll be astonished! Many around have points that are elegable to go into a good JC yet they choose to come to poly. Surprised?

So come on and join us at SP and experience an unforgettable experience!

why DBA?

i've always been wondering what course i should take up after taking my 'o'levels.. especially during the holidays before getting my results.. however..i already knew i wanted to get into polytechnic rather than heading into jc.. i mean...i kinda feel that i'm not really the type who likes to study all the time.. oh well...i used to think poly was like the place where i can have lot's of fun and "slack" all the time... so yea..decided to come into polytechnic...

then i was thinking whether i should take up a design course or a business course.. because i was considering about my interest as well...and i'm not the science kinda person..neither am i the engineering kind.. so yups... decided to do business instead...

1st..because i wanna become a business woman.. which i feels that learning the basics of business would be of very much help.. 2nd..business administration is a course which i feel is quite broad..in the sense of...it covers quite a huge different areas.. 3rd i feel that i would struggle if i take up a design course because i have no "art" background although i have an interest for it..

and so...i decided to put DBA(diploma in business administration) as my 1st choice.. and i felt that i was kinda lucky to be posted into my 1st choice cos my results were not too good.. =X so i was like jumping for joy at that point of time after knowing where i'm posted too.. =)

ok...so for DBA.. actually... it was kinda a huge difference..wasn't really what i've expected.. like i said above..i thought poly live was like "slack slack slack" all the way...then... i found out that.. it's like er...there was like projects and test as well.. hahahaha.. but it was quite fun lars..i mean for the projects.. i prefer doing projects rather than taking test all the time.. and some of the projects are pretty interesting.. and i wasn't quite used to the system.. but luckily there were like friends to guide me along.. like...i have exactly no idea what GPA was.. it's actually the accumulated results.. so yea.. 4 is the maximum.. and i didn't know what SAS was..and didn't know how to log into the e-learning website.. so yea... i'm seriously quite dumb at it.. hahahaha.. but it's alright.. i mean.. we'll bound to move into a different environment right?.. so yea.. kinda try to adapt to the environment.. and my PTN(personal tutor) sort of like the form teacher.. he was super nice.. like super concern for his students.. i'm not trying to lie about this.. because there's no reason why.. i mean..this blog is set up for us students to blog about our personal experiences.. so yea.. i'm not making stories up.. =) so yups.. i think...with lots of friends and lecturers' concern.. it wouldn't be a problem to adapt to the environment..

okies.. and so...i'm currently in year2.. wohoo.. =) and i'm majorlising in marketing.. i felt that it's interesting.. as i was doing my projects in year1.. and er..actually...i've work before..something to do with marketing..probably will blog about it some other time.. so yea.. sort of enjoy doing marketing.. =) so here i am...doing what i feel interest me and would benefit me in the future.. =)
